The Sound Waves is an intermediate level band and acts as our Marching Band by including members of the Alpha Winds and select beginning band members. Performing about 10 times a year, the Sound Waves can be heard at the Youth Expo at the Orange County Fairgrounds, Bella Terra Mall, church’s and five parades, most notably the Lompoc Flower Festival Parade and the Garden Grove Strawberry Festival Parade.
Audition Requirements
Membership in the Sound Waves is through an audition with the director. Generally each musician has passed beginning band and can play 4 major scales on their instrument with good tone quality. The meet at Village Bible Church in Garden Grove on Wednesdays from 2 to 330PM. They also have another rehearsal site at Cornerstone Church in Anaheim on Thursday’s from 1245 to 2 for those who can’t make Wednesday rehearsal.
